Choose a Backpack Color

Choose Where You Want Your Design
There are three different options for where you can put your embroidered design on a backpack: on the front pocket, on the top front, or both locations. The main difference between the two design locations is the size of your embroidered design. The top front area is 4”x4”, while the front pocket is 3”x2”.
Choose Thread Colors
You can customize backpacks with up to twelve thread colors: white, black, silver, gold, red, blue, green, yellow, orange, light pink, light blue, and brown.
With that in mind, your embroidery thread colors should contrast with the primary backpack colors. Black thread won’t stand out on a black or navy backpack, but it will on the heather gray backpack. Dark threads stand out against lighter fabric, while light threads stand out against darker fabric.

Embroidery Tips:
- Simple designs work best for embroidery. Anything too complicated (like a detailed photo or artwork, as well as images with shadows/gradients) won’t be stitched quite as you envisioned it. Undetailed designs, patterns, and text are much better suited to this art style.
- Any text needs to be at least 0.25 inches tall and 0.05 inches thick (about 24 pt., depending on the font you’re using). The text also needs to be submitted as outlines. Script fonts or other cursive fonts might not work as well, depending on how detailed they are.
- Your artwork file should be at least 350 DPI and in RGB color mode.
- The design file needs to have a transparent background. If it doesn’t, the white background will be stitched as part of your design.
