I Save, You Save, With Save the Dates

Meet Brad Bennett, a video producer whose specialty is video production for weddings. He just celebrated his own wedding, and unsurprisingly, he created a beautiful and creative Save the Date for the occasion. It managed to catch my eye, so I asked him to share a little bit about his crafty postcard.

Hi Brad. Tell us a little bit about the inspiration behind your design.

We live in small town in Virginia, so we wanted to go somewhere that we both enjoyed to have our engagement pictures taken. We both loved the beach and also loved the work of a particular photographer in West Palm Beach, FL (Kallima Photography).

Since we love to travel, I incorporated a traveling theme with foreign stamps and currency on the front of the postcard, and added various Polaroid shots of us in different locations to personalize it.

I love the look of old-fashioned postcards, so I choose a beach sand background for the back with a customized message from the both of us. I also included the addresses, which means no envelopes needed. We saved money and had tons of fun making it!

I really enjoyed the vintage feel to your photographs. What’s the story behind them?

We flew down to Florida and had a great time shooting in their gorgeous city and beach! We explored different parts of the city, and changed outfits for every new location, which gave it a fun, different look each time.

Why did you choose GotPrint?

I’ve always had gotprint.com print my video production company’s postcards. I loved the quality of the prints, the rich colors, and the affordable rates! So when the time came time to print our save the date postcards, it was a no-brainer.

What paper stock and size did you choose, and why?

I chose the full color on both sides, 14 pt. UV without the UV on the back so that I could add beautiful pictures to the front, and write the addresses on the back. This way, I don’t have to worry about any smearing. And with the 4.25” x 6” postcard size, we got a cost-efficient rate on USPS postage (28 cent stamps).

Beautiful print products that are also cost-efficient are what we like to hear. Thank you for sharing your work with us Brad!
