Free Templates: Loyalty Cards

Reward regulars and encourage repeat business with custom loyalty cards. This simple marketing tool, also known as punch cards, lets customers earn points for a discount or free item. Cashiers or service providers just mark off the card each time a customer makes a purchase. At 2” x 3.5” (the size of a standard business card), a loyalty card easily fits inside a wallet, so people can pull them out when they go to pay.

When you make a loyalty card, the layout needs to match your brand identity. A minimalist coffee shop with a black and white aesthetic, for example, probably shouldn’t use a neon patterned card. You also need to be clear about what prize customers will receive when they hit their goal. Maybe it’s a free drink, like a coffee or a smoothie, or a free snack, like a pastry or an appetizer. You can also offer free services or a coupon, like 10% off their next purchase. Add your business details, social media handles, logo, and store hours so people remember what business the stamp card is for.

You should also determine how you will be marking each service. If you’re planning to use a hole punch to mark the loyalty punch cards, make sure you use a paper stock you can easily punch through, like a 14 pt. gloss paper. Using a rubber stamp or marker will require a paper you can write on, like the 14 pt. uncoated.

Fostering customer loyalty is the best way to keep business booming, and the easiest way to do that is to offer them rewards for their patronage. Setting up a rewards program with customer loyalty cards is an easy marketing strategy.

Once you’ve designed your loyalty cards, you can display them at the counter next to the register. Train cashiers to ask if customers have one and to recommend them to those who don’t.
